Since most of the songs were medieval songs, it seemed natural for me to give improvised sequences the names appropriate to this period. in the tradition of Occitan troubadas, the musical poems were divided into three main categories: Canços - the actual songs that somewhat resemble the ballads or poets of the Romanian folklore, where the song accompanies and eventually enhances the poetic message; Sirventes ori serventes - a didactic-moralist genre in which the lyrics were composed from the perspective of a knight in the service of a superior rank noble; hence the name sirventes - ministers. This genre generally approaches an encomiastical tone but can also sometimes touch sarcasm. Finally, a last category includes the so-called Tensó, conceived as an exchange of replies between two interlocutors, or as a dilemma exposed in the form of dialogue. (Mircea Tiberian)
